Terms and Conditions
These terms explain how Sweet Society accepts orders for freshly baked cookie tubs and provides them to customers across South Africa.
Last updated: 24 July 2026
1. About Sweet Society
Sweet Society is a small family-run cookie business based in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape. We started by sharing freshly baked cookies with our local community and are growing to deliver our little tubs of happiness to customers across South Africa.
2. Ordering and payment
You place an order by selecting products, providing accurate delivery and contact details, reviewing the order and continuing to PayFast. An order is accepted only after payment has been successfully processed and confirmed through PayFast. A payment attempt or browser return alone does not confirm payment.
Prices are shown in South African rand and the delivery charge is shown before payment. The price and delivery charge displayed in the final order review apply to that order. We may change prices or delivery charges before an order is placed, including where courier or ingredient costs are affected by sudden inflation.
3. Freshness and product information
All products are freshly baked. We do not pack or ship a cookie that is more than 8 hours old. We bake and pack with freshness as a priority. Orders are prepared for dispatch after payment confirmation and subject to product availability.
Products may contain or come into contact with common allergens, including wheat/gluten, milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soya and other ingredients used in the kitchen. Please contact us before ordering if you have an allergy or dietary requirement. Do not rely on a product name alone; check the ingredient and allergen information supplied with the product or ask support@sweetsociety.co.za.
4. Delivery
Sweet Society uses its own local driver for Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha, Despatch and Uitenhage/Kariega. Deliveries outside those local areas use Bob Go, either to the customer address or to a selected Bob Go pickup point. Orders are normally dispatched within 48 hours after successful payment and receipt of complete delivery details. Customers receive tracking information when available.
The applicable local-driver delivery charge is shown at the shipping stage and local delivery is free when the local order subtotal is over R650. The R650 free-delivery offer does not apply to Bob Go deliveries. Every Bob Go door or pickup-point order pays the displayed live VAT-inclusive delivery price. Overnight shipping is always charged and is only available for orders placed before 14:00 South African time. Delivery times after dispatch depend on the destination and delivery network. We will assist with delivery queries, but this does not limit any rights you have under applicable law.
5. Cancellations, returns and statutory rights
Because freshly baked food is perishable and may deteriorate rapidly, a change-of-mind return is generally not available once the order has been prepared or dispatched. This does not exclude or limit any non-waivable rights under the Consumer Protection Act, including rights relating to goods that are unsafe, defective or do not meet the required standards.
For damaged products, follow the Refund Policy and contact us promptly with your invoice or order number and clear photographs. We may offer a replacement or refund as appropriate and as required by law.
7. Privacy and communications
We process customer information to take payment, prepare and deliver orders, provide support and meet legal obligations. See our Privacy Notice for details. By placing an order, you consent to receive order and delivery communications.
8. Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Please contact support@sweetsociety.co.za first so we can investigate and resolve a complaint. Nothing in these terms removes a consumer right or remedy that the law does not allow a supplier to exclude.
